There’s something to celebrate every day of the year, but World Gin Day is always in big letters in our calendar.
\nWhere just a decade or so ago gin had to settle for a supporting role, it has now grabbed Centre Stage.
\nGo figure: before the g&t “modern style,” a long drink consisted of a liquor, soda, 2 lumps of ice and a slice of lemon.
\nAnd now?
\nA nice gin, premium mixer (no, not a soda so), a special glass, full of ice and with a colorful garnish.
\nWith hundreds of gins to choose from, we list a few that you can celebrate World Gin Day with.  <\/p>\n

Tarquin’s Gin<\/h4>\n

For this gin, we travel to Cornwall, England’s most southwestern town.
\nHere a motley parade of flavors is transformed into gin.
\nWhere just a few years ago the classic London Dry Gin style was dominant, flavoured gin is firmly taking over.
\nAnd then you’ve come to the right place at Tarquin’s Gin.
\nRhubarb & Raspberry, British Blackberry, Strawberry & Lime, Pink Grapefruit & Elderflower Gin and we could go on and on.
\nReally.
\nBut we won’t because you get it by now.

Caorunn Gin<\/h4>\n

Scotland was one of the first countries to experience an explosion of new gins.
\nOf course, not very surprising given the number of distilleries there.
\nThey saw their chance to make a distillate that does not need to lie in a barrel for at least three years.
\nAnd they can already make quite a pot in those parts.
\nBalmenach Distillery has the only working Copper Berry Chamber used to make Caorunn<\/a> (pronounced Ka-Roen and Gaelic for Rowan Berry<\/em>).
\nThis steam chamber contains 5 drawers on which the botanicals are placed.
\nThe steam soaks in and precipitates, filled with flavor.
\nIn addition to 6 classic gin botanicals, 5 local herbs are used: heather, dandelion, wild gale, Coul Blush apple and rowan berry.
\nSo delicious in the G&T with a few slices of fresh apple as garnish. \"\"<\/p>\n

Crafter’s Gin<\/h4>\n

This gin is made in Estonia and markets 2 varieties.
\nIn addition to the London Dry Gin (Recipe #23), the Aromatic Flower Gin (Recipe #38) is also made here.
\nThe latter has the special property of turning from pale pink to deep purple when mixed with tonic.
\nAlways does great at parties and celebrations, even if you celebrate them on your own.
\nIn the center of Talinn is the Liviko Distillery where with pot stills Mahta and Elfride, is distilled.
\nThe names come from the two founders<\/a> of Crafter’s Gin.
\nEach botanical is distilled separately and then blended into the final gin.  <\/p>\n

Gin Mare Capri<\/h4>\n

You have long known the classic Gin Mare, of course.
\nThis Spanish gin is based on the flavors of the Mediterranean: basil, thyme, rosemary, Arbequi\u00f1a olives.
\nBut do the you already know Gin Mare Capri<\/a>?
\nThis gin has all these botanicals as a base, supplemented by bergamot peel from Calabria and lemon peel from Capri.
\nFull on citrus, in other words.
\nAnd also packaged in a beautiful bottle.  <\/p>\n

The Stillery’s Most Floral<\/h4>\n

Floral.
\nBut that won’t surprise you.
\nThis London Dry Gin is made with 18 botanicals, almost all of which are harvested in and around Amsterdam.
\nThink poppy, daisy, jasmine, rose hip and rhubarb root.
\nThe gin is also winning awards: 2 x gold consecutively at the 2020 World Gin Masters and at the 2021 World Spirits Competition.
\nFun fact: The Stillery<\/a> produces all their distillates from the grain, making them truly one of the few to do so.
