Cocktail bar Super Lyan, named Best Hotel Bar in Amsterdam by Belvedere earlier this year, is ready to reopen on August 26 under the leadership of their new bar manager and with a new menu.  <\/p>\n

New barmanager<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Lewis Thomson has been appointed as the new bar manager of cocktail bar Super Lyan. <\/strong>Edinburgh-born Thomson is no stranger to the hospitality industry \u2013 after spending several years working in the vibrant bar scenes of Edinburgh and London, he relocated to Amsterdam in 2016 to work at cocktail bar Tales Spirits. After frequenting White Lyan and Dandelyan (former London bars under the Lyan brand), Thomson came to appreciate the work the Lyan family have done to improve the cocktail landscape while still respecting the classics of the past. Thomson said: \u201cI\u2019m looking forward to continuing to support the bar scene of a city I\u2019ve come to love, alongside a passionate and inspiring Super Lyan team.\u201d Super Lyan founder Ryan Chetiyawardana (aka Mr Lyan) said: \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have Lewis join the Lyan team. Newmenu<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Under Thomson’s leadership, Super Lyan is also launching a completely new cocktail menu at the reopening. Reinterpreting the familiar is and remains the guiding principle at Super Lyan and is the basis for every cocktail on the new menu. To create the menu, the Lyan team looked at their own guilty pleasures <\/em>and gave them a Lyan twist. For example, there is the Espresso Martini ’61 – an Espresso Martini with Rye Vodka, Espresso and Kvass liqueur – and the Tripped Gimlet – a Gimlet with two types of Gin, Bols Genever and kiwi and lime cordial. There are also two new cocktails on tap, namely the Amaretti Sour – with Johnnie Walker Red Black Label, amaretti and toasted bitters – and the East 8 Straight up – with Vodka, Aperol, lychee and passion fruit. Several cocktails can also be ordered as a boozeless version, where the alcohol is omitted but the flavour profile remains the same. In addition to the new cocktail creations, you can also simply opt for beer or a good glass of wine and there are various bites on the menu. With the new menu, Super Lyan makes cocktails accessible to everyone.
