Douglas Laing

Although, unexpectedly … if you pay close attention, you immediately understand why this family-owned company has an immense amount of special casks.
As blenders, they have had contacts in all of Scotland’s whisky regions for decades.
And so they have also been able to buy and preserve casks for decades that no one can now access.
One example is the casks Douglas Laing has from the (now closed) Port Ellen distillery.
Some barrels are now more than 50 years old even.

In addition to the Regional Remarkable Malts, they have another collection of whiskies in which the pure Scotland can be tasted: the Exceptional Single Casks. In which it is important to immediately name the golden rules of these whiskies: only single cask, no added colorings and no cold filtration. The Exceptional Single Casks are divided into three series: Provenance, Old Particular and Extra Old Particular.

Provenance

With whiskies of ages between six and 14 years old, Provenance forms the basic series.
This makes them a great introduction to the world of Single Cask Malt Scotch Whiskies.
And especially Provenance: each Scotch whisky region is represented, allowing you to truly take a whisky journey through Scotland.
Each label color stands for its own region, so you know exactly whether you’ll find Islay (red), Lowlands (green), Highlands (purple) or Campbelltown (sand).

Each bottle is bottled at 46%

Old Particular

The pride of Douglas Laing.
A special series featuring individually selected single malt and single grain Scotch whiskies from across Scotland.
The age is always 14 years or older.
Old Particular is bottled at 3 different alcohol strengths: 48.4%, 51.5% and Natural Cask Strength.

Extra Old Particular

XOP could be thought of as “the big brother” of Old Particular.
Only the very best barrels are considered for the XOP series.
Think old, rare premium whiskey barrels.
This is a perfect gift whiskey: the bottle comes packaged in a luxurious, wooden gift box, the neck is dipped in wax and each bottle is individually numbered.
